Joined happy and enthusiastic Singapore Institute of Technology students and alumni – or SITizens, as they proudly call themselves – at the groundbreaking for SIT’s new campus in Punggol North, which will welcome more SITizens from 2023.
Heard about the exciting plans that SIT will roll out when they join the Punggol Digital District as a university in the heartlands, with residents and industry partners as neighbours.
For one, Punggol residents will be able to drop by and tinker in SIT’s makerspaces. SIT has already partnered the PA in a community makerspace in the Punggol 21 CC called SkillsCraft. This reflects SIT’s dedication to an inclusive and open campus, and their whole-hearted support for learning-by-doing.
SIT will also collaborate with SP Group on a multi-energy micro-grid, to power the entire campus with clean energy. Such industry collaborations and partnerships are a hallmark of the SIT curriculum, and will surely benefit from SIT’s co-location with JTC’s business parks.
I am confident that SIT will continue growing from strength to strength. Look forward to the exciting journey ahead!
